Matt McCabe
Co-Founder
Born and raised in smalltown Iowa, Matt has more than 15 years of global experience in Sales, Business Development, Project Management, and Management Consulting. His career began in the United Kingdom and Germany with Musco Lighting, a global-leading manufacturer of industrial lighting systems, serving as European Key Account Sales Manager and Business Development Director. Following business school, Matt was based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, then Miami, Florida, working for a Management Consulting firm. Matt designed and implemented solutions for complex strategic challenges across the supply chain for multiple Fortune 500 companies. He led teams on projects spanning four continents across the Facilities Management, Food & Beverage, Steel, Automotive, Technology and Financial Services sectors. From 2021 to 2024 Matt served as Director of US Operations. During this time, the firm tripled headcount and grew revenue 26% per year.
Matt holds an MBA from IESE Business School, BBA in International Business & Spanish Minor from Loyola University New Orleans and was a 4-year scholarship basketball player, a 2-time academic All-American Athlete, and was awarded ”Outstanding International Business Graduate.”
Stefan Zlatev
Co-Founder
Prior to co-founding Axia Growth Partners, Stefan built a broad foundation in both investing and operations. Over the span of
more than six years at Breakthrough Energy Ventures, he supported more than 20 early and growth-stage companies across various subsectors within manufacturing, electricity, transportation, buildings and agriculture. Prior to his investing experience, Stefan was at Rolls-Royce where he worked in engineering, manufacturing, operations and sales roles. At Rolls-Royce, Stefan delivered operational improvements across the company’s global supply chain and led engineering product teams across the nuclear and aerospace propulsion sectors in Europe and Asia. Stefan also held roles at Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants and was on the investment team at Volvo Cars Tech Fund.
Stefan holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, M.Phil. in Energy Technologies from the University of Cambridge and a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering with Renewable Energy from The University of Edinburgh. He is also a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
